Is there anything more glorious than a sunshine filled day in February? HWMMS decided to take a wee nap ON THE HAMMOCK while I started seeds sitting on the porch. Ah, the circle of life.

The pets are obsessed as well.

I know it’s the Super Bowl tonight but I’m not watching. If the Buffalo Bills aren’t involved, I’m not either.

So instead, I spent some time in the kitchen cooking.

I saw a Rosemary Olive Oil Cake on Splendid Table and since I had fresh rosemary sprigs and oranges, it seemed a no-brainer. Subsitutions and additions? I used Peach Greek yogurt instead of plain and I liberally sprinkled the batter with ground rosemary and orange peel. Yum.

Manhattan Clam and Crab Chowder

Never made this before. I’m a BIG FAN of NE but HWMMS requested the tomato version. Why not? This soup became a pantry cleaner-out-er. Two packages of clams, one crab, one smoked ham (instead of bacon), wee jar of pimentos (cause, why not?) jug of V-8, a jar of homemade veggie stock. And potatoes and onions and tomatoes.
