Turkey dinner time! My cousin Brenda made one last week and I was JEALOUS. So it had to happen. My favorite part is the corn. Which I suppose I could have any ol’ time, but I am stingy with my supply of corn. It MUST last all season until it’s time for MORE CORN. Hahahaha. 

And then, I found myself craving PEACHES. I know I have a supply in the freezer, I just wasn’t sure what I wanted to do once they thawed. I decided on a homemade peach cake. I altered the recipe (as usual…) Instead of doing the upside-down peaches, I added them to the batter. I used two eggs instead of one. And buttermilk. And added several hearty teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice. OH MY GOODNESS IT IS DIVINE. I cut a slice (or three) warm from the oven after taking this photo, topped with whipped cream and inhaled. I really liked this cake batter, I’m gonna need to come back and visit this one someday.
