HALLOWEEN!

Once upon a time I was a dressing up for Halloween person, but these days, meh. I like to dress up Weber Wonderland with Fall Goodness but I’ve never been a spooky creepy kinda Halloween gal.

So instead I will share my latest labor of love.

Roasted Pumpkin/Squash Seeds.

A delicious toasty so many hours for so few seeds, love.

1. Getting all the gook off.
2. Soaking for hours in saltwater.
3. Getting more gook off, spread on towel in front of fan to dry.
4. Put on dry mode in oven to make sure they are really dry.
5. Sprinkle w/ olive oil, paprika and salt.
6. Roast at 350 checking every 10 minutes and stirring for about 30 minutes.
7. Enjoy. Yum.

What else did I do on my day off? HOMESTEADING JENNY – her happiest state.

LOOK AT ALL THOSE CROCKPOTS!

Pear and Apple Sauce (with Ginger and Cinnamon.)

Pumpkin Puree.

And the very last for real of the tomatoes – going in the oven to be roasted and pureed into sauce.

HWMMS: So basically, you just stick gourds in plants for decorations?

Me: Yep.

Happy Halloween – TOMORROW IS NOVEMBER!
