Across Western New York many people take an annual pilgrimage during the Easter Season to the Broadway Market located in the heart of the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood. While many visit to pick up their annual Butter Lamb, fresh polish sausage and pierogies, a bunch of pussy willows and maybe a few painted wooden eggs, the market has so much more to offer for those who take a little time to explore.

Buffalo’s Broadway Market has been operation since 1888 offering an “ethnic old world shopping atmosphere” for visitors across the region. A one-stop-shop you can find fresh produce, butcher/poultry shops, baked goods, deli meats, all sorts of different kinds of candy from family-owned local businesses, some which have been around for multiple generations.

And then there are the flower stands, craft vendors, specialty ships and service centers. In fact there are over 50 vendors including restaurants within including the East-West Cafe, Margie’s Soul Food and Potts Deli.

During the Easter season you can also have an impromptu wine tour around WNY by stopping at several of the wineries/distilleries including Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards, Black Button Distillery, Chateau Buffalo, Main Street Winery, Midgard Winery, Niagara Landing Wine Celler, Savage Winery. Vetter Vineyards, Victorianbourg Wine Estate and Vetter Vineyards.

Bring the kids and get a photo with the Easter Bunny in front of the market, everyday from 10am-4pm. And depending on the day, enjoy live performances which includes polka, jazz, big band music, A Cappella singers and Polish dancers.
