Before the rain. Garden time!

Baby bok choi plot next to the garlic.

Valerian plot w/ catnip and echinecea. Chinese broccoli plot w/calendula.

In case anyone needs to know where all the bees are…they can be found at Weber Wonderland. I don’t know what we do right here but at any given time there are at least a half-dozen bumbles buzzing around everywhere I look.

Gardening is really, truly, one of my happy places.

After a few hours outdoors, I continued garden dreaming and buying. I talked HWMMS into the idea of using the backyard behind the pool room for a raised bed garden of medicinal plants. Basically, that whole area is a wetland and something needs to be done. So I researched plants that like wetlands and came up with a plan. And while I was filling up my cart online once again and getting ready to check out (for real this time!) I saw a 20% coupon appear so I had to go back and look for more plants to buy, of course.

This nursery is evil (in a good way?) 5 plants for $20 BUT IF YOU ORDER 25 plants it’s $50. I don’t want to order that many, but how can I not? Ordered!

This new raised garden area will have 4 cranberry bushes, 25 fiddlehead ferns, yarrow, boneset and solomon seal.

I also ordered 25 black cohosh plants for the edge of the woods. I’ve had ZERO luck growing by seed, and I am a woman of a certain age who will need this herb soon!

Anyone interested the nursery I ordered from is here. And coupon code is SAVE20.

Days like these fill my soul with happiness.
