I think we all turn to our past for moments of comfort in trying times. And holy mother of all things are we in trying times right now. I’m going to use this as my reason for suddenly craving my family macaroni salad this week.

Macaroni salad is a summer food. But nope, I needed it. Now.

Sadly, we are currently in trying times. And I’ve been isolated and home for 1027 days (give or take) and there is no reason at all to go to the grocery store just to make sure I have all the items for macaroni salad. I’m not stupid.

But I did realize how spoiled we are…I never ever have radishes in the refrigerator, I think the only time I eat them is when I put them in macaroni salad. So when it’s time to make said salad, I drive to the store and that is that.

Sigh. No radishes for me. And no cucumbers.

I had tuna and egg and onion and celery. And I used SHELLS instead of ELBOWS. And it does not taste like my family macaroni salad, but I put it in the yellow Pyrex bowl and ate it anyhow. Because. Quarantine.

And it shall be called MaCORNA salad.
