FIVE hours organizing and cleaning the kitchen pantry seems like a crazy way to spend an afternoon, but sometimes it needs to be done. I thought it would be an hour or two at most. HAHAHA. But doesn’t it look PRETTY!
Upon said reorganization of the pantry, I realized I was waaaaaaaay low on stock. (See left hand shelf, 3rd down for empty status. As opposed to the top shelf which is FILLED with all tomato sauces and salsa. And the 2ns shelf which is all things pickled)
So as a homesteading (wannabe) goddess (who has been sick) does, I made a giant pot of tomato veggie and roasted a turkey for turkey stock.
My least favorite part is the actual pressure canning part. I need to do three rounds with the 15 quarts of soups.
But after I do the canning, I feel so accomplished.
Now, time to make another giant stockpot of veggie. Loaded with extra garlic, onion and turmeric. I have a feeling I’ll be sharing the goods with people I love in the upcoming weeks.
