I woke up thinking about all the incredibly brave souls who died serving our country and wonder what they would be thinking right now about what is happening in America. We will rise again. We must. To honor those who came before us and those who will follow. #MemorialDay

Last night I had my 1st COVID dream. Girls weekend in NYC – shopping, drinking, eating, swimming in the hotel pool – just like in the before times, not a care in the world. Three days later we all remembered and I started to cry because I knew I was infected and was going to die. Yikes.

Tis the last of Threesday, back to work tomorrow. Must make the most of today but DAYMN it’s hot outside. I manged to add soil to the giant pots of patio potatoes and that’s about all I could muster. (Seriously, mid-high 80s!)

Our amazingly, loving and kind and caring friend Cat left us the most thoughtful gift basket in the bus hut this weekend. Something for everyone (including the cats & dogs!) THANK YOU! A tequila bottle dog toy!!! I have wonderful people in my life.

ASIDE: This thought came to me after HWMMS dropped off this basket by the door and I wanted to thank him for bringing it to me. Other people whip out a boob as a sign of affection towards their spouse right? Kinda in place of a “thank you” or “hello there” or “this is what I think of that.” I find it a highly versatile way to communicate. So much easier during a no-bra pandemic too!

Hahahaha. Always call ahead before visit Weber Wonderland, you never know.

Honestly, the only thing I feel motivated to do is nap or sit in front of a fan all day. (Or both, which I already accomplished.) I’m desperately missing the pool…

What to do? Make food in a hot kitchen of course! (In front of a window fan.) Time to make the scotch eggs!

I “forced” HWMMS to help, he peeled the eggs while I wrapped them in sausage. A dozen duck eggs and a dozen chicken eggs. Into the oven at 400 degrees for 45 minutes.

Perfection!

And for dinner?

Macaroni Salad. Of course.

And grilled meats.

Yum,
