ONE WEEK!

I’ve blogged every day for a week – only how many more days until it’s a “habit” again?

What’s exciting and new? Well – let’s see I got BOOSTED today. (Walk-in COVID booster shots available at the Springville Pharmacy.) This time I had a choice of vaccine – and since I’ve been straight Moderna, I chose Pfizer.

HAVE YOU BEEN BOOSTED YET? Seriously, go do it. COVID is not dead – the pandemic is still hobbling along and with new variants and no one at all anywhere wearing masks – well — you know the drill.

Before heading to get boosted and into work I chose to take the doggos for a simple drive around the neighborhood. It’s a beautiful day and the leaves are turning and the sun is shining and I’m TRYING TO PRACTICE THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE and honestly, I lovelovelove where I live – surrounded by trees, countryside charm and just a wee drive away from our picturesque village and business district and highway to head to the city. I’m blessed and lucky.

Country roads – take me home…to the place, I belooooooong.

Of course in the middle of this moment of Zen – I come across THE STARK REMINDER OF THE WORLD I REALLY LIVE INĀ  – as I drive by a lawn sign that says “FUCK HOCHUL, GUNS WELCOME.”

Ah, America the Beautiful.

Lucky for me – I shifted my focus from RAGE to a moment of happy when I came into work and found my friend Meggan gifted me with these adorable gnome towels! Oh, how I love gnomes.

Tonight after work, I have a Concord Democrat Committee Meeting.

A few weeks ago, I was at the Erie County meeting, now it’s time for ours. So, so thankful to live in New York during these unprecedented times. So thankful for the ladies of Concord Dems for keeping me engaged – I’m quite good at the enraged part all on my own.

Back when I was in law school, I was actually a member of the Erie County Republican Committee. And then for a verygoodamount of time I was into registered with any party – and along came Elizabeth Warren and I dove right back in – and not only registered as a Democrat, but was gently coaxed into serving on our county committee as well. (I blamethank Kara for the gentle coaxing.)

Being registered with a party also allows me to serve as an Election Inspector WHICH IS SO SO SO SO IMPORTANTĀ especially in these times. (Again, so thankful to live in NY, but let me tell you – evil lurks around every corner.)
