The only thing that could have taken my mind of a global pandemic and our country burning — an epic lightning storm. Wowza. The sky was an endless angry strobe light tonight! For a while there I was certain the Chitauri were coming out from behind those clouds.

By far the most energetic storm I’ve ever seen. And so very cathartic.

Before the storm hit we accomplished a few things in the garden.

All the red climbing roses in the front porch garden are now mulched. 12 rose bushes (still small, need a few years to grow!) and 24 bags of mulch. Mulching is madness, it’s way more work then it seems it should be!

In between the roses I sprinkled green and red scallion onion seeds to grow.

We also put down the red plastic mulch for the tomatoes. Gotta try something new this year, I’m sick and tired of having gorgeous lush plants with not a huger amount of fruit as a reward. The tomatoes are still under grow lights indoors. I plan on planting at least a dozen for patio plants too, to see if that makes a difference at all.

Let’s see if it makes it through the storm!
