GLITCHES. Whod’a thunk it?
Glitches prevent $1,200 stimulus checks from reaching millions of Americans
The Weber Family did not get stimulated yesterday. Nor today.
We filed taxes, had an extention for 2018. Did not get to 2019 yet. We also currently OWE the government taxes because 2018 WAS A KILLER BEAST FOR OUR CONTRACTING FREELANCE LIFESTYLE.
So I wasn’t sure if we were in the system properly or not and I headed over to the GET MY PAYMENT link on the IRS.gov page and saw what apparently many other people saw. ERROR!
The error message is not really calming. And the FAQ not very enlighterning in our particular situation. So, I try typing in HWMMS information, same. I read that there are errors with entering the address, so I use RD instead of ROAD, same.
Glad we aren’t one of the many who actually reallyreallyreally NEED this money right now. Ugh.
I investigate a little more and click on the “enter my banking information” page just to see what it was all about because technically we didn’t get a direct deposit in 2018, so maybe if we add our bank? The IRS.gov page to enter bank information went to this link WHICH MADE ME VERY UNEASY.
Free Fillable Forms.com??? REALLY? This is the secure page you want people to enter their banking information? Oy. Looks cheap and scammy to me. IS THIS PART OF JARED’S JOB ON THE TASKFORCE?
Nope. And I definitely don’t trust anything our current Federal government is doing, so double NOPE for us.
I guess we will wait a few months and hope to get a paper check signed by, I mean noted in the Memo Section by Dear Leader instead.
All I can think of are the people who REALLY NEED THIS MONEY (and so much more…) having to deal with these glitches. Arugh.
