First and foremost I’m very lucky I was able to see my eye surgeon at a moment’s notice.

2nd…if you don’t know. I HAVE A PRETTY SIGNIFICANT EYE PHOBIA.

That said. I found my left eye vision deteriorating rapidly the last 2.5 days. When I woke up this morning with complete blurred vision, not just double vision like yesterday, I freaked out.

There’s a longer story but I’ll keep it short here.

My IOC (implanted lens) from cataract surgery 22 years ago…has shifted. Its now hanging out in eyeball goo somewhere below. Which basically makes me “functionally blind” without the powered lens. I have to see a retina specialist (hopefully Monday) to confirm there’s no damage. And then have surgery to replace the lens.

And I’ve been told this is extremely rare.

Good times.

I’m so thankful it’s not something more serious. But I’m not looking forward to what is ahead. Literally. 😬
